Gabriel Magariño Santos

Gabriel Magariño Santos is a Security Manager at Indeed. While he has spent over two decades working in various sectors of IT, Gabriel’s current focus has been on specialized areas of information security, including identity and access management, risk management, cybersecurity, AI, and mobility. He has worked as a lecturer at the Universidad Panamericana and Tecnológico de Monterrey campus Aguascalientes. He has participated in multiple conferences on topics related to ITIL, cybersecurity, project management, agile methodologies, networks, and leadership, among others. Alitzel Méndez Bustillo

Graduated in Animation and Digital Art from ITESM, Campus Monterrey. Alitzel Méndez Bustillo began their career journey as a Programmer Analyst at Oracle MDC from July 2017 to July 2019. During this tenure, they contributed to the development, modification, debugging, and evaluation of programs for internal systems within the OKS/IB team. Their focus included enhancing user workflows and streamlining processes through concurrent development and enhancements. They adeptly handled error resolution in workflow and normal processes using PL/SQL and implemented necessary corrections like data fixes and code adjustments.Currently, serves as a Software Engineer II at Microsoft, where they specialize in developing functionalities and maintaining the ecosystem for testing and publishing .NET. Their role demands thorough tests and validations across multiple operating systems due to the cross-platform nature of the .NET framework. Furthermore, Méndez has participated in notable projects such as SpinderTec 2016, where she contributed to the development of a mobile app for Android using Android Studio. Additionally, she played a key role in the HeyDoc 2016 project, overseeing UI design and art implementation for a mobile app for iOS that enables patients and doctors to connect and schedule appointments.

Miguel Jimenez

Miguel Jimenez earned a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Computing Systems from Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico, in July 2016. During their studies, they excelled by securing the second place in the international competition «24 hours of innovation» organized by Ecole de Technologie Supérieure.

Their professional career includes roles as a Software Engineer (Android/iOS) at Universidad Veracruzana from February 2016 to February 2018, followed by a similar position at the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente de México from March 2018 to January 2019. Subsequently, they served as a Senior Software Engineer (Android) at U.S. Bank in Minneapolis, MN, from February 2019 to September 2020.

Currently, Jimenez works as a Senior Software Engineer (Android) at Walmart Labs in Sunnyvale, CA, since September 2020 to present.

Monica Karel Huerta

They are a Senior member of IEEE and currently hold the position of full professor in Telecommunications at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana UPS in Cuenca, Ecuador, since 2017. With over 28 years of experience in teaching and research, they hold degrees in Electronic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Ph.D. from Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. Their current research focuses on IoT and sensor networks for precision agriculture, soil nutrition monitoring, climate variations, telemedicine, education, and humanitarian technologies. Previously, they worked at Simon Bolivar University, serving as Postgraduate Dean and coordinating the Doctoral Engineering Program. Throughout their career, they’ve published over 125 papers, received numerous research awards, and served on scientific committees for conferences. They are actively involved in mentoring and managing startups since 2015. Within IEEE, they’ve held various leadership positions, including President of IEEE Ecuador Section, Chair of IEEE EMBS Ecuador, and Vice President of IEEE Section Ecuador. Currently, they serve as the President of the Nominations and Appointments Chair of IEEE Ecuador Section and treasurer of the Andean Council.

Emma Juaneda Ayensa
